why we need telephone boxes

Morning guys!

Hope we are all well? hows the weather everywhere? we are still getting lots of rain here in WA. Its really poured some days the poor farmers over East could do with this thats for sure. What this weather is perfect for is crafting.

This month is was hubbys 40th bday so we had a superhero theme to this one. He loved Spiderman as a kid so we had this great big balloon version of him! and lots of balloons. I wanted to make a superhero themed card and since i couldnt find a spidey I went with Superhero Edwin.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges -

Addicted to Stamps and more- Make your mark
Fussy and Fancy Friday challenge blog - Anything goes
lovely hAnglar or Sweet Magnolia- Dies or punches
Magnolia-licious challenge blog- fall or winter/ anything goes
Allys Angels challenge blog- Happy birthday

This card i wanted to add some movement to it. Then it came to me...do a spinner and use Edwin and the telephone box. As where else is a superhero going to get changed! The spinner made it look like he was whizzing round and then bursting out.

I coloured Edwin and the telephone box both with Distress inks. The die cut Edwin is stamped on is from Spellbinders. I used papers...which are pretty darn awesome..from Reminisce. These are so fun, so bright and just basically perfect.

The dies are a mix of superhero ones from Cheery Lynne and Echo park, They are fabulous and perfect with the papers.

Hope you have a great rest of the week and weekend.

Christmas...its come early!

Hi guys

How are we all? Weather here is really wintery and we have had some really crazy storms. It definitely feels like it should be Christmas time with the cool nights.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges-

Addicted to stamps and more-  Holiday
Alphabet Challenge blog- Jingle bells
Fussy and Fancy challenge blog- Christmas in July
International Art and Soul- Christmas Traditions
Simply Magnolia Challenge blog

So for this card I used one of my all time fave layouts, yep another twist and pop. I used Tilda and little Rudolph for the image. I think little Rudolph is just so cute! I coloured them with Distress inks.

The papers are from an old Kaisercraft collection 'Christmas wishes'. Usually I like traditional Christmas colours but this paper collection is just so beautiful and could resist the gorgeous pinks and mints in it.

On the inside I used a lot of the sentiment papers that came with the collection. I love the deep gold that they have popped in there also, it really sets off the rest of the colours.

I used the Magnolia dies of the rocking horse and the Santa's head. I do love that Santa's head die. I get quite the work out coming up to the festive season!

I popped the angel wings die, also from Magnolia, through an embossing folder and then added some metallic gilding wax to it in gold.  I love gilding waxes. They are so much fun to play with and  really add an aged effect to the piece.

I popped a bit of glitter on the cuffs of Tilda's coat. I added some gold glitter die cut circles to the tags, again from Magnolia.

The sentiment is from an old collection that Lili of the Valley brought out years ago and this like Santa's head gets a lot of use.

Finally, I popped through some ribbon which had gold glittery thread running through it. This was from Stampin Up last year.

Hope you have a great weekend.
