Monochrome Christmas
Hiya guys,
Well wow what a week its been here- Bush fires raging- thankfully all is well now and no one was hurt.
So I am here today with one of many Christmas cards that will no doubt be following in the next few weeks, yep its that time of year again where us lot are frantically making our Christmas cards. But have to say i do love making them.
So I am entering my cards in the following challenges-
Dutch Magnolia Lovers - Anything goes (last challenge *sniff*)
Magnolia Mania - Tic, Tac, Toe (Die cuts, Pearls and Embossing/ Embossing, flowers, Sentiment)
Marvelous Magnolia Challenge Blog- Layered up
Simply Magnolia - Anything goes
Time for a Magnolia Challenge - Christmas challenge- Inspired by a song ( Silent Night)
Tilda's Town Neighbourhood Challenge - Fussy and fancy or clean and layered
So for this card i was feeling very festive! I loved the old vintage style of the browns and reds and this is the monochrome look i went for. The song that this was inspired by was 'Silent Night' as i remember from back home in England that quietness of the snow and the Salvation Army being out under the lamppost singing. It was so quiet apart from the the musical instruments and Silent night was always one that they started with. So i used Snow Tex to get the snow effect that Tilda is standing on and the snow falling round her. I used Magnolia's lamppost die to recreate this image that I have. I used Magnolia Christmas tree dies and added gold perfect pearls to them.
The flowers are a mix of WOC and Kaisercraft, I used Jute red ribbon behind the main image. I also used a lace die from Magnolia which you can see peeping out the left hand side. I also used the fab Tim Holtz die of a clock and that was placed behind the image.
The DPs are from the fabby Maja. I coloured Tilda with Copics. The snowflakes are a Martha Steward punch. The sentiment is from Whimsy.
Hope you like my card.
