Magnolia Down Under Challenge -Moving card!

Hey guys!!

So another week and another challenge from MDUC and boy have they knocked it out of the ball park on this one! a moving card! cool eh! So since it is cooling down fast here I am still doing my Christmas cards! and least I wont be rushing this year haha!

So here it is!

The stamp I used was Tilda with a gift, thought she was very cool and cute and just loved her socks!! I started by using KC basic cardstock in 'Cherry' its nice and rich for Christmas cards and makes me feel very festive! I then used the KC collection from 2012 in 'Just Believe' this is a pad full of cool blues, silvers, reds and greens, totally different from their other collections for this period in 2012.  I normally use one of my nesting frame 4 dies to cute the design paper but this time I used my pinking sheers as they give a lovely wavy edge to the paper.

Now to get it to move this is what I done; I started the card as you would any card. I then took two piece of card, same colour, thickness and length and scored at 2 inches in from the end and applied glue to the OPPOSITE end and glued this to the inside part which is the front of the card. This then allows the 'legs' to fold in and out on each other.  I then took two extra piece of KC card stock in Cherry and measured a 1.5cm in from the edge and cut with my sheers. These pieces were then glued to the moving 'legs' of the  card. After this I went with a the cool blue tones and again cut with my sheers so you can see some of the red peeping out . These were glued to the 'legs's.  Now for the main body of the card. I used the lovely green and trimmed ever so slightly in so the red would again peep out. I then applied a glossy red embossed piece from the same paper pad and distressed it with my distressing tool. This was layered on the green. Lastly I used the metallic snowflake paper that I just love and this was the final layer of the card. Now for Tilda! I cut my copic paper using my Spelling binders die in the fancy oval and stamped Tilda again in my 'Espresso truffle' ink, I then used the same die to cut a piece od design paper and cut the border and glued to the stamped image.I then sponged Tim Holtz 'Mowed Lawn' Distress Ink to the image before I glued the design paper. Here are the colours I used for Tilda-

Skin- YR000, E21, R01, R20, R30
Hair- R02, YR02, E08, R17
Dress- G28, G14
Socks/Band/Cuffs- R89, R46
Parcel- B05, BG10

I added Dimensional Magic to her parcel to give it a glossy finish. I then used Atyou Spica pens in Silver for her ribbon, red for bow, and green for her hair ties.  I then used Stickles 'Diamond' (my fave!) to her ribbon on her parcel so it tied in with the ribbon on the front of the card.

Around the edge of the inner part of the card I stuck on red pearls and a piece of red velvet ribbon. Added to this were green gems. I applied Liquid Pearls in 'Bisque' as pearl earrings to Tilda.

Now for the 'legs' I added die cut Poinsettia flowers and some collectables from the same collection.

I wanted the card to carry through the idea of a present at Christmas so I folded in one 'leg' under the inner part of the card, and the other part formed the top that you would 'unwrap'. I pierced through two green brads so you have to untie the card. I added a metallic silver ribbon to tie in with the ribbon on the stamped image.

Hope you enjoy! This has to be one of my faves!
